GuidesGitHub Connect
Connect GitHub for private repos
When to Connect GitHub on a repo row — private access, views and clones, or a higher rate limit.
In short:
- Public repos need no Connect. Connect GitHub for private repos, views and clones (which also need push access), or a higher rate limit.
- Connect grants GitHub's
reposcope: full access to your public and private repos. GitHub has no narrower option. We only read the repo on each row, and we store the access encrypted. - "Reconnect GitHub. The refresh token was rejected." means: click Reconnect GitHub on the row.
- To revoke: remove your GitHub rows in Configure, and revoke Droppin' Eaves at https://github.com/settings/applications (Authorized OAuth Apps).
